IBI Design of ‘The Maples’ Shortlisted for RICS Awards
IBI Group-designed residential project The Maples in Sale, Manchester has been shortlisted for Regeneration Project of the Year in the upcoming 2018 Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) – North West Awards. The flagship scheme for Laurus Homes & Trafford Housing Trust is comprised of 34 residential apartments, five detached family homes, 1,000 sq. m. of commercial floor space, associated car parking, cycle storage, and landscaping.
The project has made a significant contribution to the regeneration of the local area and has received unanimous support from Trafford Council and the local community.
“We are really pleased that The Maples has been shortlisted for the Regeneration Award,” said Architect and Studio Director, Seamus Lennon. “It has been a great scheme to be a part of and we’re proud of the positive impact it will have on the local community.”
Additionally, all proceeds from the sale of the homes will be reinvested through Trafford Housing Trust’s ‘Profit for Purpose’ initiative to create new affordable housing across the borough.
This year’s regional RCIS Awards ceremony will take place at the Principal Hotel in Manchester on 27 April 2018. Alongside The Maples, seven other projects are hoping to win in the category including:
